MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Mardi Gras celebrations come to a climaxtoday on the Alabama coast and in New Orleans. It's Fat Tuesday - a
full day of parades are scheduled, beginning with the Order of
Athena at 10:30 a-m and ending with the Order of Myths at 6:30 p-m.
Gulf Shores and Orange Beach also have Fat Tuesday parades
planned. And there's a boat parade set for the Intracoastal
Waterway in Baldwin County.
In New Orleans, Fat Tuesday is marked by family-friendly events
uptown and in the suburbs -- and by heavy drinking and near- nudity
in the French Quarter .
Weather conditions won't be perfect -- revelers can expect the
possibility of thunderstorms today across southwest Alabama with
highs in the mid 70s.
Worried about the weather? Stay dry and watch live, all-day parade coverage, on News 5 and wkrg.com.
