The fate of a man accused of hitting and killing a little girl with his car after a mardi gras parade last year is now in the hands of a jury. Joshua Smith is charged with vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an accident with injury for the 2007 death of 5-year-old J'Lexus Lee. Lee was hit and killed by the oncoming car at the intersection of Kennedy and Congress Streets last Fat Tuesday. Toxicology reports showed Smith was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs that day. The jury will begin their deliberations Wednesday morning.
