Family members say Lam Luong and his family had only recently moved back to Bayou La Batre. The family had lived in Hinesville, Georgia for about two years. That's just southwest of Savannah.An employee at the mobile home park where they lived said the family was always quiet. He said hearing the news about what happened was something he never would have expected.
Jennifer Brown and her family lived next to the Luong's for close to a year. She, too, remembers them as a quiet family.
"They were real quiet, kept to themselves, except for at nighttime when they was fighting. He never let them kids come outside and the only time we seen her was when she was leaving and they left a lot in the middle of the night. He was always on the phone at nighttime too... He was loud and when they was fighting other than that they didn't come out unless of course they was leaving. Them kids used to stand at the window all the time and just look out. They'd wave but they never spoke," said Brown.
This past October, Luong was arrested in Hinesville for possession of crack cocaine. He was scheduled to face a grand jury next month for those charges.

It appears to me that the Father had a history of Drug Abuse. People may be thinking why didn’t the mother get out of the relationship sooner, before things got this bad, that is easier said than done. When you are dealing kids, a father and a mother , it is not easy just to up and leave . Some times we stay in a abusive relationship because of the kids and think that we can not make it with out the spouse, but I am here to tell you , you do not have to stay in any relationship if it is against you will. You make you own choices in life, and sometimes they are not always the best choices and we have to deal with the circumstances that it bring. So viewers please get out of any relationship that you are not happy with the living situation, before when worse comes to worse it will be too late to say if, I could of,should of, would of did this!!!!!!!!
