45-year-old Tim Bell was a civilian electrician with Haliburton working in Iraq April 9, 2004, when his convoy was attacked by Iraqi Insurgents. Now, four years later the Mobile man's family has not given up on hope that he'll make his way back home. "We will continue until we find some answers..it could be another four years, we're going to be just as persistent," Said Bell's sister Felicia Carter. Carter along with Bell's other sister Debra have traveled to Washington to face the Pentagon and Haliburton representatives to find out where their brother is. "The company refuses to say anything, they say they're waiting for the army to respond and the army puts it off on Haliburton, so we still once again, we know no more than we knew 4 years ago, "Said Carter.
As the sisters head out for a ceremony to remember Keith Maupin, another member of the convoy who most recently was accounted for, their heartache remains. "You want to be there to support them and will be yet you don't want to make the trip in a sense because it's a very emotional time, "Said Carter. "We just want some closure one way or the other, we're prepared to receive him one way or the other...only thing we want is some answers,"Said Debra Bell.
At least nine other Americans were killed when Bell's convoy was attacked, seventeen others were wounded or captured, including a Mississippi man, who managed to escape after less than a month in captivity.
Iraqi insurgents ambushed the convoy only a few weeks before Bell was set to return home. The Bell family says they will head to Cincinatti, Ohio this weekend for a ceremony to remember U.S.soldier, Keith Maupin. Maupin was in the same convoy as Bell.
Timothy Bell is the only member of his convoy who has not been accounted for.
