My heart goes out to Beth Foster and Brandon Gurley, and the rest of the Family, as for Jessica Hutson,the ex-wife my heart went out to her too, until I saw the interview she did after family and friends told her not to and well I don’t buy it, thats all I am going to say, something does not make sense at all.  I hope it made Jessica happy to hurt the family even more during this time of mourning.  She can say whatever she wants about Beth Foster , it might have made her look good to the public, but to the family and friends of the parents, it only confirmed what we already knew, that she is a selfish person who has no class. I do not care what any follow-up comments say, its the truth.  (example: we are all talking about the ex-wife for goodness sake, something is wrong here)…
Again, my love goes out to Brandon and his family and to Beth and her family, whos hearts will never be the same without baby Christian.

Brandon Gurley’s ex wife Jessica should stay out of the business of another womans child and possibly comment on why he and she aren’t still together and maybe Amanda was doing the best she could do under the circumstances.  There are surely reasons why her and Brandon aren’t together anymore.  By the way did Jessica offer to babysit.  I have watched my husbands children many a time on my off days and we have paid for babysitting while paying child support.  My dad even babysits.  So does my brother.

She made a bad decision but she’s not a bad person nor is she a bad mother. She’s mourning over this probably more than I could every begin to imagine.
The ex-wife proves a point in this recording that she’s like any other ex-wife that probably wouldn’t have anything good to say about Elizabeth even if she was Mother Theresa…
I feel so sorry for the people mourning the death of this young boy. And I’m not in any way trying to say it was right that she did what she did because I’m totally against it but the fact that the door was supposably “tied shut” should have been photographed and investigated because I don’t believe it was like the media claimed it to be. The little boy wouldn’t have made it regardless of that fact because he was still in bed when he was found. It’s a very sad situation all in all. I’m praying for the family and friends of this little boy and their family. RIP CHRISTIAN

The most troubling aspect of this story is that it speaks to a much larger problem.  We all know that this same situation has been repeated within our community more than once.  We also know that only the tragedies make the news and are only a very small fraction of the reality.

If statistical analysis has any value at all, then we must presume we have only seen the tip of a huge iceberg.  The reality is that there are hundreds of small children being left alone and helpless tonight.  We just don’t hear about it until it is too damn late.  We need to spend less time lamenting the failure of these very dysfunctional parents and more time searching for answers.  Many of us are in the dark, because this has become some type of shameful secret and it should not be that way.

The innocents are dieing and we only mourn after the bad news is spread between wide margins in our local news.  How can we become more proactive?
