A Prichard soldier who was killed on Easter Sunday this year was remembered Friday night with a memorial at the high school he loved.A banner in honor of U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Harrison Brown was unveiled during Blount High School's game with Vigor High School.
Brown died in Iraq this past April.
He had played wide receiver at Blount.
Family members say Brown was a big fan of all sports, but especially of the Blount Leopards.
Brown's wife, Delisha Brown, said, "Right now, its really a difficult time with it being football season for me, because I know what I'd be doing right now, what he'll be telling me: what games to watch and the scores and everything."
Amid fireworks and music, Blount officials unveiled a banner in Brown's name that will be permanently displayed at Blount Stadium.
Brown's Sister, Mary Dozier, said, "He left me with a little mission he told me to do: making sure that everybody gets to college and making sure they stayed on track."
Deion Dozier, Brown's Nephew, said, "He taught me how to fish for the first time. I really miss him."
Brown died at the age of 31.
