"Faith is getting stronger each day, and her personality is very strong", says grandmother Patricia Stewart.Mrs. Stewart recently emailed News 5's Rose Ann Haven with an update saying, " Faith has started back to school and is having an ok time. She will only be able to go for eight school days and then we are heading back up to Philly for a check up". After a serious vehicle crash last year, Faith spent weeks at Shriner's hospital in Philadelphia".
In July 2007, The family says a truck ran a red light in Bay Minette and slammed into Faith's Aunt's car with Faith sleeping in her car seat. The wreck paralyzed the child from the neck down. She cannot breathe on her own, but, Mrs. Stewart says, "We are still dreaming and praying for the day the vent(ilator) comes off. Celena is away at rehab and misses being home very much". Celena Sprinkle, Faith's mother was also in the car when the truck hit. The crash broke her ribs, jaw, pelvis, collapsed her lung, and gave her a concussion.
Faith's family is looking forward to the trial of the man accused of causing the crash. He's expected to go to trial in November 2008. Mrs. Stewart says, "It has been a long year, and I am hoping that with the trial, it will close some bad doors".
