Eric Buzbee's lawyer has filed a motion to suppress the search warrant executed on Eric Buzbee's home. Attorney John Beck filed the motion at the Fairhope satellite courthouse Tuesday."In our motion to suppress, we have taken apart the affidavit line by line and have answered all the assertions made in that affidavit based upon our own investigation and our own tape recorded interviews," says Beck.
Beck says he and his private investigator have punched holes in the case against Buzbee.
"We believe this affividavit fell way short providing the necessary details to support a search warrant so that's why we filed the motion to suppress," says Beck. "Our hope is Mr. Buzbee will be exonerated of any suspicion and when the district attorney reads what we've uncovered, we're hoping she will re-focus their investigation elsewhere. Being a person of interest does not justify the execution of a search warrant."
District Attorney Judy Newcomb would not comment on the case, but did tell News 5 Eric Buzbee is still a person of interest in the Wilson attack.
