The principal of the school where President Bush was when he learned of the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks has died.Gwendolyn Tose-Rigell was 56. The exact cause of death was not available, but she had been undergoing treatment for breast cancer.
Bush was reading to a classroom of students at Emma Booker Elementary School when then White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card whipsered in his ear that a second plane had hit the World Trade Center.
At a ceremony marking the first anniversary of 9/11, Tose-Rigell spoke about the school's unique place in history.
"It does set (Booker) apart," Tose-Rigell said. "There was another spot on Earth affected by this and it's a more tender spot because it affected children ... Administrations will change, teachers and students will come and go, but they should always know that this school has an important place in American history."

Great demonstration of Bush’s lack of leadership. How long did he go into hiding afterwards? The country didn’t hear from him for days.
