Catherine Murphy's pain is indescribable. "Oh man you just don't know, it hurts, it really hurts," says Murphy.
Murphy's best friend was murdered in Elberta last night. Investigators say Ellison was killed by her own son.
"She was really concerned about him coming home," says Murphy. "He just got out of jail."
Investigators say Chris Adams has a long criminal record and has a history of drug abuse and violence.
"We've charged Adams in the murder of Pamela Ellison," says Major Anthony Lowery with the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. "He was arrested in Pensacola and will be extradited back to Baldwin County."
Ellison's neigbhors and her pastor say she'll be missed.
"She just lost her grandson," says Pastor Steve Derby of the Foley Assembly of God. "That's one good thing that we can get out of this. She'll be reunited with her grandson she loved so much in Heaven."
"She was a wonderful Christian woman," says Murphy. "She would do anything for anybody."
Ellison lived in Elberta for many years. Funeral arrangements haven't been made. Ellison was 59 years old.
