Lake Forest is known for its rolling hills, beautiful homes and friendly people. But people living in Alabama's largest subdivision are now on edge, after police say a woman was attacked there while walking home from work Wednesday night."It was a violent attack," says Lt. Jud Beedy with the Daphne Police Department. "The suspect hit the woman in the face with a two-by-four."
Investigators say the man asked the woman for a cigarette. When she told the man she didn't smoke, police say he hit her.
"We patrol Lake Forest as much as we can," says Beedy. "But we're definitely going to be on the lookout for any suspicious people in there until we get this guy off the streets."
Women living and working near Lake Forest say they're worried the suspect could strike again.
"It's very scary," says Melissa Cundiff. "You feel like you're in a safe area, but everyone should watch their backs and be aware of their surroundings."
Call the Daphne Police Department if you have any information about the assault.
