ALUM ROCK, Calif. (AP) - The San Francisco Bay area has beenrattled by a moderate earthquake.
There are no immediate reports of any damage.
The quake had a preliminary magnitude of 5.6 and struck shortly
after 8 p.m. According to the U.S.Geological Servie, it was
centered about five miles northeast of Alum Rock and nine miles
northeast of San Jose.
