MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Former football star Kenny Stabler's
estranged wife has agreed to sell her Gulf coast home on Ono Island
at a January auction in an IRS agreement that will settle her
husband's dispute over $580,000 in back taxes.
Kenny Stabler had agreed in February to the sale but Rose
Stabler had objected to any deal that would include the sale of the
home where she lives.
She told the Press-Register the agreement calls for the sale of
the Ono Island house and another home that her husband owns in
Mobile.
Kenny Stabler's lawyer confirmed the settlement Wednesday, but
declined to discuss details until it's signed.
Court records show the Stablers separated in 2001.

WELL THAT EXPLAINS IT. But I must say, if they are divorced and the ink is dry on the degree I might just have to tell him and Uncle Sam to work it out. I am not saying that she didn’t benefit from the proceeds but this is a slippery slope for divorcees and how much they can be held responsible for their ex’s debts after the marriage has ended whether or not the debts were incurred during the marriage or not. JMO

Well I must say she has to be a very special woman to agree to sell her home for his back taxes. I know nothing of either of them but I can assure you that there are not many ex’s that would agree for their home to be sold to cover their ex’s income tax debt especially if the divorce decree was final…..

It could have started out at a reasonable amount and quickly turn into half a million with penalties and interest, if this has lingered on for years.
. What is Rose doing these days? Didn’t she used to report for WKRG several years ago?

How does someone come to owe a half million in taxes and not know they are doing something wrong? If he owed that in taxes…imagine what he made….
