3:05 a.m.
Helicopters and K-9 Searches were unsuccessful finding Smith. The public is still urged to be on the look out.

8:42 p.m.
The Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office sent News 5 pictures of the wrecked patrol car. You can see a bullet hit the front windshield.

7:55 p.m.
The Crisp County (Georgia) deputy's patrol car that was stolen by a cross dressing prioner has been found. It was wrecked in a wooded area in Floridale, which is in Santa Rosa County.
More than 10 agencies are taking part in the massive manhunt for Eugene Smith. Helicopters and K-9 units are also being used.
The Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office says Smith was shackled at his ankles at the time of the escape, but a handcuff key was found in the patrol car.

5:22 p.m.
The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office wants you to be on the lookout for an escaped prisoner who "looks like a lady" and is driving a stolen patrol car.
A spokesperson says 33-year-old Eugene Smith escaped during a restroom break at Brown's Grocery in Holt. Smith, who was being transported from Texas, stole Crisp County, Georgia deputy's pepper sprayed, sprayed him in the face, then took his patrol car and headed west on Highway 90 towards Santa Rosa County.

The deputy fired a shot and hit the windshield of his patrol car but does not know if he hit Smith.

Smith is described as a black male who looks like a female. He’s 5’9”, 140 pounds, and was wearing blue jeans, a gray top, and a fur imitation jacket.

Anyone who sees Smith or the patrol car is asked to call 911 immediately.
