Kids may think it's a prank, but for drivers on Interstate 10 it is a potentially deadly situation.

"I thought I'd been shot by a gun shot," says Rene Cade. "My window exploded."

Cade was driving home from work around 7 o'clock Tuesday night when a rock hit his back, passenger side window. Cade says several other cars were also struck driving on the Navco Road overpass.

"My child normally sits here," said Cade, pointing to a car seat, which he says was covered in glass. Luckily, his two daughters were not with him in the truck. "Regardless of if the rock would have hit my child, the glass could have blinded her or my other child," he said.

Cade and another on-looker chased down one of the kids, who police believe threw the rocks, and held him until police arrived. The 8th grader was arrested and charged with criminal mischief, but police believe there could be as many as five more kids involved.

"It's not fun. It's not a game. You're dealing with peoples lives who are unsuspecting of objects coming through their windows," said Sgt. Marcus Young, a spokesperson for the Mobile Police Department.

Cade is the only driver to file a police report about the incident, but police say they received several calls from other motorists.

Parents she know where there children are at all times.  Im in my early 30’s so I’m still young and my mom knew where we were every moment and there were four of us.  So there’s no excuse, yes the parents should be liable to damages done. But, death from this cannot be changed! That is a done deal, kids today are very different than that of myself.  My mother tore us up when we did wrong! We lived through it and so will these kids.  Most parents today just don’t care and that is why things like this are going on. A good ole fashion *ss whipping will do them good I promise you that!

Keep working! we need the taxes for our weak economy and what us poor folks call our golden parachute,Social Security. Course our parachute has a lot of big holes in it but it keeps us eating on a pretty regular basis. Speaking of that I see where the AIG executives just went on a $84,ooo hunting trip after getting some of the bail out money. Nice to know we’re not making them lower their standards on enjoying the tax payers money, isn’t it ? We need to give old VP Cheney a pocket full of shells and his gun and take his glasses away and send him on a hunting trip with them,HUH?

morning carl. the same thing is going on wehre i am this week up in north mississippi. kids throwing rocks at cars what are they thinking. all i can say is that if i caught one throwing rocks at my car thier parents could probably pick them up at radneys, i would have NO problem firing back at someone who threw a progectile at me, and i am a pretty fair shot. and after i got one or two of them word would get out and the problem should disappear.

I absolutely agree Carl!
That would solve about 90% of all of the schools, and children’s problems!  They all need to be wore out-
All of these parents that “don’t beleive in spanking” and “my baby would not do that”...These parents need their tales torn up!

You seem to have covered it sufficently Madcap and one more thing, the one caught should really be glad those people caught him and held him. If I would have caught him/her, I would have wore that little butt out with a belt and then claimed I never touched him. He would have second thoughts about it ever time he sat down.
