Mobile Police say a man has been ordering more than just fast food at restaurants lately; he's been using drive-thrus to order up some quick cash. Over the last month, Mobile Police say he's hit 5 fast food restaurants from Highway 90 to Moffett Road. In every case, police say he's pulled a gun, or indicated he had one. The Dairy Queen on Moffett Road was one of three restaurants hit Tuesday night. The cashier says the suspect ordered some chili cheese fries, then ordered her to hand over the cash, "he said give me all the money in your register now, and when he said that, I looked, and I, you know, saw that he had an object covered up with this plaid shirt, and I said No, and he said no? And, that's when he lifted the object up higher," said cashier Megan Sullivan. Sullivan also said, "it was covered up so I'm calling it an object, but the officers last night said it was a gun." The suspect didn't get those chili cheese fries after all or the cash. The Dairy Queen owner and the cashier say they wanted to talk about what happened at their restaurant to warn others and they're thankful no one was hurt. Mobile Police say the suspect has only gotten cash from one of the five restaurants. Mobile Police are also warning other restaurants to be careful and on the lookout. Because of what happened Tuesday night at the Dairy Queen on Moffett Road, the owner there tells us, they're taking extra security measures.
