Former Alabama Governor Don Siegelman is no longer sharing a cell with former HealthSouth CEO Richard Scrushy.Siegelman has been transferred from the federal prison in Atlanta.
He was taken there on June 28th, just hours after he was sentenced to more than seven years in prison on government corruption charges.
The federal prison system will not reveal the former governor's new location. A spokesperson says they will comment after Mr. Siegelman arrives.
An attorney for Siegelman says that rumors are circulating that the former governor was taken to a prison in Texarkana,Texas. That information has not been confirmed.
Richard Scrushy remains at the Atlanta facility. He was sentenced to serve almost seven years for his role in the government corruption charges.
