ENTERPRISE, Ala. (AP) - First Lady Laura Bush has told
graduating seniors at Enterprise High School that the tornado they
faced last year totally altered their high school experience.
The first lady spoke tonight at the school's graduation
ceremony. She said the hardest challenge the class faced was to
create a normal high school. And she added that while other
students around the country were worrying about who they were going
to take to the dance, Enterprise students were sifting through the
rubble of their school.
One student, Roy Crump, says he thinks it's a miracle that he
survived the tornado that killed eight of his classmates.
Like most other Enterprise students who experienced the storm in
March of 2007, Crump says he has recovered physically and mentally
and is ready to get on with his life. He plans to attend Auburn
University this fall.
