I tried on jan.1 to apply for a coupon but could never get the site to accept the application.One other thing that people don’t realize is that in a lot cases,as is mine,your going to loose some channels,due to signal strength.You are going to loose those channels that appear a little snowny with the new digital tv.In my case i will loose channel 15 and everything above,42,33,44,55.The 40 dollar coupon dosen’t go very far on a 179 dollar converter box.This seems a high price to pay just so the electronic industries can have the R.F. spectrum presently occupied by analog channels.

I called the 888 number that was posted in your web-report and talked to a customer service representative with the digital coupon program. their recorded message stated that they do not repair the converters, nor are they allowed by law to replace lost or stolen coupons. when I brought that fact up to the representative, I told her that $179 was too much to pay for a device that was unrepairable. the representative stated that the converters should not cost more than $30 - $40. I informed her that where I live, a company is ripping the public off by selling the converters for $179. and honoring the government’s $40 coupon. I thanked her for answering my questions, then I hung up.
