A well known Mississippi lawyer who represented Hurricane Katrina victims has been indicted on criminal charges. Richard "Dickie" Scruggs is accused of trying to bribe a judge. His son Zach, former state auditor Steve Patterson and two other lawyers have also been indicted. All are accused of trying to pay a judge forty thousand dollars in cash for a favorable ruling. The judge reported the scheme to authorities. Scruggs has been in the news since Hurricane Katrina hit Mississippi.
