“Meth lab, they cook it anywhere,” says Creola Police Department Corporal Gary Davis. “It could be in the back of a truck, home, it doesn't matter to these people.”
The discovery happened early this morning. The Creola Fire Department was called out for a blaze on a houseboat at the Dead Lake Marina. Upon arriving, investigators found a working meth lab.
People around the Marina were very surprised. Marie Milstid only comes here once a year to wash her boat. It just so happens her boat is right next to the alleged drug house.
“Scary,” says Marie. “We didn't know what had happened, we just left, we thought the trailer was on fire so we circled around to come back, find out.”
Police say two people ran from the scene. No one was reported injured, but police believe one of the suspects may have been burned in the fire.
