Frankie and Billie Hall say the city lived up to its promise to clean out the ditch behind their home on Oklahoma Street. They complained to News Five in September about a promise the city made to maintain the ditch but they say the city has ignored it for the past five years. News Five contacted the city and they told us the ditch was scheduled to be cleaned out earlier this summer but they fell behind. They promised to address the problem in a few days. The Hall's say, a few days later, city crews showed up and cleaned out the ditch. They were impressed. Now they want the city to continue to maintain the ditch and eventually they would like to see underground pipes installed to drain the water instead of the open ditch.
We'll let you know what happens.
