Hours after a Citronelle man pleaded not guilty to charges of theft of property and falsely reporting that someone cut out his tongue, a Circuit Court Judge granted him bond.
Mike Crocker did not appear in court this morning but his lawyer entered a not guilty plea for him.
Yesterday, a judge denied bond to Crocker, saying he was a flight risk.
But this afternoon Circuit Court Judge Joseph Johnston granted Crocker a $100,000 bond.
The Judge has ordered that $50,000, half of it, be posted in cash only and the other half be a corporate surety bond.
Crocker is charged with taking more than $200,000 from his business Vulcan Industrial Services.
He is also a suspect in the murder of his co-worker Stephen Perret.
No charges have been filed in that case.
Crocker will be back in court December.

legalgal...the forensic evidence has proved obviously to the law that he did this to his own self. This is what I am going by. If you were attacked by an unknown assailant don’t you think you would be fighting for your life? This man should have had cuts all over his hands and arms from defending himself. He should have even had cuts on his lips and face. If you are willing to believe that he sat there and stuck his tongue out for his assailants then so be it. This board is for comments and each person has his own opinion about this incident. Why are you attacking individuals for voicing their opinions? Are you a member of the Crocker family? Close friend? Do you know the truth? Care to share?

I just hope the judge checked to see if this guy had been talking to Eddie Smith lately, before setting this bond.

i cannot believe they let this man out on bond what happened over night somewhere someone must have owed someone big time...i hera the Virgin I landsd are nice this time of year...for those of you who sit and say his wife is innocent on some part she may be but there is no way she DIDNT HEAR THE GUN SHOT and i find it hard to believe they she never saw the money she was the bookkeeper for petes sake and evidence shows he cut his ouw tounge out how exactly do you do that without help please someone explain that to me

Quite amuzing . . . to watch all of your postings. (Interested) you stated “still he did lie to the police about the attack on his own self”. . .amazing that you have evidence that the justice system lacks...what’s your secret? Care to share? The verdict is in before the case has even been presented??? Wow...you’re really bright.

Last I read he hadn’t even been charged with such a crime but of course is a “suspect"(definition: to imagine (one) to be guilty without proof ) please, place an application.....they need your help…

I agree with what-the-heck, it does not mean he is guilty, just because he stole the money does not mean that he did all this, maybe who he stole the money from did all this,

The judge should have just issued his passport! He was suppose to be a friend to Steve, what a friend .... just goes to show he can’t be trusted! Karma will come back to him and anyone else involved.....

It hasn’t been proven that he did it to himself. It has been proven that he stole the money though. Does the evidence look bad for him? YES--But does it mean he did it with a doubt...NO. Besides...he’s not in this alone. THere’s no way you can make me believe that he’s the only one involved in all this.
