Church officials say it was because of security concerns that
Reverend Jeremiah Wright was asked not to deliver sermons over a
three-day period this week.
Wright was the longtime pastor of a Chicago church attended by
Obama. He left last month and some of his past sermons have
received new scrutiny and criticism in recent weeks.
Reverend. Earl Mason of the Bible-Based Fellowship Church of
Temple Terrace says sheriff's officials notified him Sunday that
they would not provide certain security for Wright's visit.
Mason declined to say what protection was unavailable. A
sheriff's spokeswoman did not immediately comment.
