An autopsy will be performed Tuesday morning on a child's body found off the coast of Louisiana. Mobile County and Louisiana authorities are trying to figure out if the little girl's body is that of two year old Hannah Luong, the last of four children who police say were thrown from the Dauphin Island bridge by their father earlier this month. The Plaquemines Parish Coroner's Office says they now have jurisdiction in Louisiana after the child's body was found off the coast of Venice Sunday. We're told the autopsy will be done at a forensic lab in neighboring Jefferson Parish. Louisiana authorities say they have requested Hannah's medical records from Mobile County authorities to help them positively identify the body. We talked with the Chief investigator for the Plaquemines Parish Coroner's Office about the case, "once we get proper identification, like I said, it could be as early as tomorrow, a funeral home in Alabama, of course, would make contact with one here to make all the arrangements to get, I believe her name's Hannah, back to Alabama, if this is her, that can take place as early as tomorrow, but then again, it's going to really determine on when were able to make 100 percent identification," said Chief Investigator, Scotty Polk. The Mobile County Sheriff's Office says their lead investigator and the Mobile County Medical Examiner will be in Louisiana Tuesday for the autopsy. If the body is identified as Hannah, a spokesperson for the Mobile County Sheriff's Office says, the Plaquemines Parish Coroner's Office and the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences will make arrangements to get Hannah back to Alabama.

Louisana…LET GO of Hannah!!!!1

we al know it is the precious angel that has been gone 2 long!!!!

STOP THE DRAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am with you 100% on this, childress. I said the same thing (basically) on another news article.

I don’t think Lousiana should be involved in the investigation, simply because they knew for 2 weeks there was a major search for 4 babies. And they also knew (I’m sure) that there was a 100-150 mile search stretch for the body of Hannah. So why do they need to get involved and make it so difficult in letting the mobile co forensics do their job? Why put the family on hold that much longer.  Has Venice or anywhere near venice been missing an asian child? I highly doubt it. I haven’t heard of it. Mississippi didn’t keep the body of Lindsey when she was found near Chevron to further investigate it before handing her body over to Mobile Co. So why should lousiana? I understand they want to convict this man/father for the crime he did, but so does everyone else.  I don’t understand why Mobile had to travel to Lousiana to do their part. And for the life of me, WHY, WHY WHY do they need medical records sent to La, so THEY can do examination on this body? I don’t get it. I don’t!
