A police officer in Cincinnati, Ohio officer was critically injured this weekend while trying to stop a police chase that reached 90 miles per hour.Hamilton County Sheriff's deputies pulled over an SUV after receiving a complaint that three people inside the red Saturn were using drugs in the parking lot of a pharmacy. As deputies approached the vehicle, the driver hit the gas and took off.
Cincinnati police deployed stop sticks to puncture the SUV's tires, but the driver kept on going.
Sgt. Bryce Bezdek was waiting with a second pair of stop sticks about two miles down the road. Before he could deploy them, the SUV hit a pick-up truck and pushed it into Bezdek.
Deputies finally caught the SUV and arrested three people on drug charges. The driver, 41-year-old Carmella Duley, is being held on drug and traffic charges. Police are considering filing criminal charges because of the injuries to Sgt. Bryce Bezdek.
