A male and female were taken into custody Monday morning after leading Mississippi authorities on a chase over state lines. Around 3:30am Biloxi Police were conducting a traffic stop in their jurisdiction when a van almost struck one of the officers. They pursued the van until the male driver and female passenger baled out on Interstate 10 near exit 10 in Mobile County. The female was captured immediately but the male fled into a nearby wooded area. After several hours of searching Biloxi Police, with the assistance of Mobile County Sheriff's deputies and Alabama State Troopers, found the man in the wooded area about 6:30am. He was taken into custody without incident and charged with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle. Police say the van was stolen out of Louisiana. It's unknown what the female will be charged with. No injuries were reported.
