The man accused of brutally killing an elderly Irvington couple, then leading officers on a day long manhunt could face the death penalty.
Aubrey Lynn Shaw, 32, is charged with two counts of capital murder. He was arrested Monday afternoon in his mother's house, next door to where the victims, Bob Gilbert, 79, and his 83 year old wife, Doris, were found dead.
"He took two lives and we've only got one to take," said Darla Furby, a close friend of the Gilberts, who says she wants to see prosecutors pursue the death penalty in this case. "He should give his life for theirs," said Furby.
Mobile County Sheriff Sam Cochran says Shaw has been in and out of jail for the last fifteen years. His arrest record shows dozens of previous burglary and robbery charges.
Monday, Cochran told News Five he believes Shaw was trying to steal money from the Gilberts when he killed them.
Shaw's bond hearing is scheduled for Wednesday morning, but District Attorney John Tyson says he expects a judge to deny the bond because this is a capital murder case.

blackeye say what you want, i am from St elmo Cir, and lived there 20 years, i know the story, i lived the story, you can say what you want, I WAS THERE DAY IN AND DAY OUT, no one is to blame but him, i smoked crack right along beside him, and i quit at my own free will, and say what you want about his mom, she never did nothing but hide him out, if every chance she got, SHE TOLD TARA NOT TO CALL THE POLICE TO REPORT THE MURDERS

Nobody but Lynn knows, for some reason Lynn was always unhappy so he turned to drugs to feel better. If you have not been addicted then you can’t talk about how easy it is to stop, drugs consume you PLEASE lets just stop judging and all come together and pray for the Gilberts and their families and lets pray for LYNN and his family, we all sure need it.

I am sick of all you know nothing alls, this has nothing to do with Daniel, he was not even around when Lynn hooked up with drugs. Lynn decided to do that all on his own. Stop bashing my family, this post is for how you feel about what the media said not to say ugly and hurtful things about my family. Lynns mother is hurting really bad, and all you stupid people are doing is making it worse. Just like the Lord said vengeance is mine, maybe some of you should look in your own backyards and get out of our families

Aunt, as for your comment, it was not his unsavory friends, but a worthless brother, that intruduced him to crack, and I bet you can’t guess where currently resides. DATS RIGHT BEHIND BARS, for what reason??? CRACK COCAINE!!!!

DE3571 I hung around those stables my whole life, don’t come on here posting about things you know nothing about, Len and I groomed and fed and herded horses from dusk till dawn many times, but what has this got to do with what happened??? NOTHING, this is about drugs(crack/cocaine)and a double homicide. Lets stick to the TRUE facts here. He had a severe drug addiction that being locked in a prison cell could never cure. He needed REHABILATION, not imprisionment, and the state of Alabama should have checked this out before releasing him.

I AM SO SORRY FOR HIS FAMILY AND ESPECIALLY HIS MOTHER. WHAT HAS TAKING CARE OF HORSES GOT TO DO WITH COLD BLOODED MURDER. THE COMANDMENTS I READ SAID “THOU SHALL NOT KILL”. I PRAY THAT GOD FORGIVES HIM AND LEADS HIM INTO THE GATES OF HEAVEN, I AM SURE THAT THE FAMILY OF FAITH WILL KNOW WHEN THEY REACH THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN. GOD WILL OPEN THE BOOK ON MR. SHAWS LIFE AND HE SHALL HAVE JUSTICE THEN.

He has not always done wrong and he did help with the horses we help together i have seen the good but i think what he did was horriable but that dont stop loving and praying for him and being there for him that is what nanny would want his family to love unconditionaly as Christ loves us unconditionaly

everybody has done some wrong in there life but he has done evil just about all of his and never tried to make up for it all he ever had to tell his nanny was god has come into his life and because of the good person and god fearing woman she was she would forgive him

and he never done the things his brother and sister had to do with the horses all he ever did was bring pain to his grandparents after he was about 14 and older
