Getting a prescription filled at the Mobile County Health Department may not be as simple as you think. The clinic's pharmacy will only be open two days instead of Monday through Friday.
This change is a result of some compliance issues with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy.
Some health department patients told news five that they've been coming to the pharmacy since last week, and there has been no one behind the counter to give them their medications.
The health department says it's sorry.
"We really apologize to our patients. We serve the most needy citizens in the county and any inconvenience in their health care delivery system is very important to us. We hope this matter will be taken care of but we're not closing the pharmacy completely," said Mobile County Health Department Health Officer Dr. Bert Eichold.
The pharmacy is only open Monday and Friday until further notice.
To find out the operating hours, just call 251-690-8817 before going to the pharmacy.
