News Five has obtained documents, including the search warrant and sworn affividavit from a lead investigator in the Bobby Wilson case. The information from the search warrant executed on Leslie Buzbee's mobile home Friday and the items seized uncover new and not-yet-reported details in the case.
Employees at Wilson's Service Center told investigators Buzbee was angry when Wilson refused to cash a two-party check the day before Wilson was attacked. A person questioned in the case told police he heard Buzbee say "the old son of a bitch wouldn't cash my check, he's going to make me rob him." Another person questioned said Buzbee told a friend "that old bastard wouldn't cash my check but I took care of business."
The documents obtained by News Five indicate $10,000 dollars was stolen from a cash box the morning Wilson was assaulted. According to the affividavit, a few days later, Buzbee told a family friend he won the lottery.
Cell phone records also indicate Buzbee made dozens of phone calls the morning Wilson was attacked. Phone records also show Buzbee was near Wilson's Service Center when the robbery happened.
Buzbee's attorney was out of town Tuesday and was not available for comment. He has "not" been charged in the Wilson case, but Baldwin County Sheriff Mack says Buzbee remains a "person of interest" in the case. Read the Search Warrant, List Of Items Seized, and the Sworn Affidavit
