The Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office and the Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco conducted "test buys" at 28 stores in an effort to curb sales of alcohol to minors.They first checked 7 stores in the Avalon Boulevard area. Four of the seven stores were cited for selling alcohol to people under the age of 21:
Tom Thumb on Avalon
Parade store on Avalon
Avalon Bowling Center
Fillups on Avalon
Deputies and Agents also worked the Pace area from Woodbine Road to Pea Ridge. They checked 21 stores. This time, only 2 stores were cited for selling to minors:
Circle K at Hwy. 90 and 197
Penny Pantry on Hwy. 90
