Police got the call around 7 o'clock Wednesday morning. Two twin sisters, Dykeshia and Dyneshia Harris, grabbed broomsticks and started fighting a 14-year-old and 16-year-old girl who were armed with a glass bottle and a ceramic piggy bank. When a male teacher tried to break up the brawl, police say the Harris sisters started hitting the teacher with the broomsticks.
Paramedics had to put stitches behind Dykeshia's left ear. Two other girls and the teacher were also treated for minor injuries.
The Harris twins are charged with 2nd degree assault and disorderly conduct. They will be tried as adults.
Last year, their brother Dominick, was arrested for using his cell phone to record a classmate punching a teacher in the face. Earlier this month, he was arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting.
The 14-year-old girl involved in the fight is also charged with 2nd degree assault and disorderly conduct. She and the 16-year-old were taken to the Strickland Youth Center.
