"You have those people, like the congressman there, that are bigots. It's a racist thing to them. They are afraid of us Mexicans taking over politically, I think."

Fierce accusations, such as this one, were thrown during a heated debate over the construction of a border fence in Texas. Citizens on both sides of the issue hurled accusations of racism and disloyalty at one another. One person at the center of the debate is Republican congressman and former presidential candidate Tom Tancredo, the architect of the fence. The politician faced a chorus of boos during the meeting, and retaliated with a very heated response.

CNN correspondent Ed Lavandera has the story.

Place sharpshooters along the borders, this will deter the illigals.

You go net-50. The only reason these idiots are whinning about this is because it is wrong and THEY are illegal.

The majority of Alabamians are wanting our existing federal laws enforced.  We expect the Montgomery senate to think very carefully before they allow a large population of illegal workers in Alabama .  Alabama workers have not gotten a cost of living raise to compensate for higher cost in power, gasoline, food, and medical cost.  Any right minded person would not invite guest to dinner if they were out of groceries.  America, and especially Alabama, is not financially able to invite illegal guest into our state and supply the cost of having them settle here.  Our local contractors are struggling this year to stay in business.  Illegal immigrants force us to hire Spainish speaking teachers for a special education.  States who have the most illegal immigrants are the same states reporting outbreaks of measles.  I challenge Ed Lavandera to report on the original source of the measles outbreaks in the northern states and give us a head count.  Local companies should use E-Verify.
