A judge set bond at $3,000 for the twin sisters who attacked a teacher during Wednesday's brawl at Murphy High School.
17-year-old Dykesha and Dynesha Harris are charged with second degree assault. Police say the twins grabbed broomsticks and started fighting a 14-year-old and 16-year-old girl who were armed with a glass bottle and a ceramic piggy bank. When a male teacher tried to break up the brawl, police say the Harris sisters started hitting the teacher with the broomsticks.
Murphy's principal says Wednesday's brawl was the latest twist in a long-standing dispute between the Harris' and another family.
That other family was the target of a drive-by shooting earlier this month. Dykesha and Dynesha's brother was arrested in connection with the shooting. Dominick Harris is also accused of using his cell phone to record last year's attack of a Murphy High School teacher.
After the attack. Murphy's principal wanted to transfer Dykesha and Dynesha to another school. But Mobile City Councilman Fred Richardson intervened. Tonight on News 5 at 5:00, we'll ask Richardson why he went out on a limb for the girls and what he thinks about that decision now.

Give them all big fines and they will think twice before fighting on campus again. and if they don’t pay, put them in JAIL

Hope these girls don’t go before Judge Charles GraddicK. (the one that let the kid that almost killed a Mobile Police officer while drunk get off with nothing.) Because if they did Judge Graddick would probally give them a Lolly Pop and tell them to be sure that they don’t do this again and to be good girls.

What is going on with this community. If Fred Richardson wants to be involved he needs to be working with his contituents and the DA to get this group of “Gone Bads” behind bars and off our streets. This kind of behavior is very far from a slap on the wrist. This kind of behavior is a down right danger to the community.

I understand Councilman Richardson was trying to keep life normal for these girls when he stepped up for them, but now it looks like he was wrong. In the future he needs to consider the wellbeing of all the other kids, instead of just a family with a lot of bad apples. I agree that the parents need to be helded at least partly accountable for all these actions. But, I feel more strongly that each of these kids needs to be made to understand that they can’t blame others. They each need to be held accountable for his own actions.

This is not a race issue.  It is a case of horrible parents that do not control their kids.

Has child protective services had anything to do with this Family?  If not they should remove any other children that are still at this Families home otherwise they will probally be going to jail like the rest of the kids.

Sounds to me like the parents need to step up and take some responsibility for their children. These kids all act the same and it is ridiculous.

It sounds like this family has serious issues, where are the parents?
