The search for two missing teenagers, police believe have drowned in Big Creek Lake, will resume in the morning.
Relatives of 17-year-old Steven Fowler called the Mobile County Sheriff's Office around noon today to report Fowler and his cousin, 16-year-old Timothy McDuffie missing. Fowler and McDuffie, who is visiting from Tennessee, were out fishing on a 14-foot boat. Both kids are on spring break.
Search crews from the Sheriff's Office, the Mobile County Sheriff's Flotilla and the Alabama Marine Police scoured the lake for more than five hours but have come up empty. The Sheriff's office has not said whether the teenagers were wearing life jackets.
As you might imagine, this has been an emotionally draining day for both families. You could clearly see the anguish on the the faces of Fowler's relatives who gathered at the search site. They did not want to speak to the media.
Search crews will be back out at Big Creek Lake in the morning.
