More aerospace business could be flying in to the Port City. This morning, executives from Airbus and it's parent company, EADS, are expected to announces plans to build commercial freight planes at Brookley.

The deal is contingent on EADS and Northrop Grumman winning a $40 billion dollar Air Force tanker contract to build air refuelers. That contract is expected to be awarded to the winner next month.

Hundreds of additional jobs are expected if the commercial plane business lands in Mobile.

This is going to create jobs for people in ways some people just cant imagine.  This will be good for many people directly and indirectly.  We all cant build the planes but we will reap the benefits of those who do.  This is GREAT for our city.

There’s no reason to go to that link for the “apply” to Airbus because unless you have 10 to 15 years experience and an engineers degree they have no jobs listed.
This is going to help Mobile how?

I do not understand the “big” announcement.  EADS has not gotten a contract to build anything.  This is just a ploy for this area to spend money on a speculation that EADS will get the contract.  I rememver the Mobile Homeport which cost millions of dollars in construction and lasted 2 years?
