well...i tried to post a comment, but i went over the limit of characters by about 586.Anyway...the gist of it was this: I’m sickened, appalled, etc. just like everyone else.....What is wrong with our society? i mean....this, and all of the other stuff you hear just like it every day....all of the horrible news....it’s symptomatic of something bad going on, right? I mean.....I dunno..this really, really bothers me and I don’t know how to react. My first thought is to find and skin them. Then i think that the “person” who did this has to be sick, can’t be mentally well...they need help, if they didn’t, they couldn’t have skinned a dog. I love animals, this and the dog fighting I hear about....people call that a sport! such audacity! It is sick and at the very least misguided....I do hope they find this person and I do hope that they pay for this and someday can feel the guilt....obviously they’re not capable of feeling anything right now....but, again, they need help. And punishment… I can’t say enough, and you all feel the outrage that I do, all sane people do.

This is a mental disorder, and just like dog fighting, it represents a complete lack of empathy for a living, breathing “being”.  It should be a crime, not a fine.  I am amazed at how tolerant our legal system is towards animal abusers, given the documented relationship between animal torture and violent crime in the human sector.

If the laws were tougher, these crimes would be less frequent.  If our society is going to tolerate and accept this type of psychotic behavior, we have no right to express outrage when this same person walks into a school and starts shooting.  Animal cruelty and torture is symptomatic of far greater psychological problems.  It deserves more than a fine and slap on the wrist.  Anyone capable of “skinning” a beagle is capable of human torture, or worse, possibly murder.  How sick.
