People who live in Bayou La Batre are trying to cope with the news over Lam Luong's confession to killing his four children.

Some folks say it's one of the most heinous crimes they've ever heard of in the community.
"It's bad for this community, very bad... I mean it's bad for anywhere," Said Bayou La Batre Mayor Stan Wright.
Police say Irvington resident, 37-year-old Lam Luong confessed to throwing his four children off Dauphin Island Bridge, Monday morning. But folks here don't want to believe it.
"He's probably not always been like that, this is probably something you know he may be drinking. Who knows, we don't know," Said Ruth Bryant who lives across the street from Luong.
Minh Le helps run Boat People S.O.S., a non-profit organization in the area that provides services to the asian community. He's tried to help Luong fight his drug addiction.
"He seemed to be pretty stable at that time he knows what problem he has and it looked like he tried to work that out, " Said Le.
Authorities say while Luong claims to have thrown his four children off Dauphin Island Bridge, they also say he had a criminal record with drugs. Which some folks saying at this point anything is possible.
"Maybe the children are still alive because we don't know yet, because we only know that, you know.. what he said," Said Le.
"I think he's got everybody on a wild goose chase. ..And uh, I'm not saying that the kids are safe..I pray that they are," Said Mayor Wright.
Authorities had to suspend their search this evening (Wednesday) due to thick fog in the area. The search for the four children will continue tomorrow morning (thursday).
Meantime, Luong remains behind bars at Mobile Metro Jail on four counts of capital murder.
If you have any information on this crime call police.

This is a tragedy that has affect the entire nation. At times like this people really need to turn to the Word of God and put him first in our lives. There is no excuse for a Father to take his own children’s life. There is no drugs in the world would make you feel like this is something you had to do, I am a firm believer that this was a way of him getting back at his wife for not giving him money to purchase the drugs with , so he done what he knew would hurt her drastically, take the lives of their four precious children. And viewers , lets not forget these words, The children were a child of God and they are going to be with the angels up above and God knew that the kids would have a better life on the other side instead of being in a abusive, drug infested environment.  It is very hard for the family and relatives to deal with such tragedy, but pray and ask God to give you all the strength to accept the things we cannot change and wisdom to know the difference.
