A Robertsdale woman and her five-year old son died in an accident Thursday night near Elberta. State troopers say Amy Hogue and her five-year old son, Christopher Dylan Hogue, were killed when Hogue lost control of her pick-up truck and slammed into a billboard sign post on Highway 98 near Old Foley Road.
News of their deaths has shocked the local community.

"She was a good mother, "says Joann Valenti. "It's very sad that she's gone and her baby, too. He was a cute lil fella, he's going to be missed by his Grandma, she loved him dearly."

"I've lost friends in accidents, I've lost family in accidents so it's very emotional right now," says Mary Butler.

Amy's husband and Christpher Dylan's father was also in the truck when the accident happened. Christopher David Hogue was airlifted to U-S-A Medical Center. Doctors say Hogue's injuries are not life-threatening.

Meanwhile, state trooopers are still investigating the cause of the wreck. Troopers say alcohol and speed were NOT factors in the wreck.
