Christy Byrd Philips, a math teacher at Loxley Elementary School, has been found guilty on drug charges in a Baldwin County courtroom.

The Baldwin County Drug Task force raided her home in Robertsdale home in December of 2006. They found meth and marijuana.

Baldwin County School System officials tell News 5 that the Superintendent will now recommend the School Board terminate Philips' contract. Philips has been on paid administrative leave since her arrest.

Best way to reduce taxes is to drug test anyone that gets paid by the tax payers/government. We would probably end up with at least a 30 percent positive test result. If they don’t get off the stuff they are fired! Most probably couldn’t come clean, and considering drug addicts are suppose to be so worthless, we wouldn’t need to replace them, of course, if the President was to test positive we would need to replace him, but then, that would at least explain a lot, nobody could be that stupid while sober.

The reason a teacher gets paid while on administrative leave is because in America people are considered innocent until proven guilty. In today’s litigation happy society teachers are at the mercy of unscrupulous parents and headline hunting prosecutors. The problem lies with the Baldwin County District Attorney’s Office. They have a dismal rate of processing cases.

If I ever got in trouble I wish I could get a year and a half paid vacation that would be great.  Can the School Board Sue to get the money it paid her back?

Another example of the School Board Wasting Money.  If you are on administrive leave for longer than two weeks it should be without pay.

What concerns me is she continued to receive full salary for a year and three months after being arrested. Why did it take a over a year to bring a simple possesion charge through the court while she continued to get paid?
