The attorney for the man accused of throwing his children off the Dauphin Island Bridge was in court this morning. Lam Luong's attorney, Joseph Kulakowski, wants the court to appoint a translator to help him talk with his client. According to court documents attained by News 5, Kulakowski says because Luong was born and Vietnam and has essentially been raised in the Vietnamese and Asian fishing culture he needs someone to help him talk with his client. Kulakowski says the interpreter is needed to represent Luong properly. Luong facing four counts of capital murder for throwing his 4 children off the Dauphin Island Bridge January 7th. Two of the children's bodies have been recovered. We will have continuing coverage on this story later today on News 5 and WKRG.com

WHY IS HE GIVING A BULLET PROOF VEST ?
THOSE CHILDREN DIDN’T HAVE A LIFE VEST.
WHY SHOULD HE.
AND I HOPE THAT SOMEONE SENDS PIC’S OF THESE BABIES TO THE SUPREME COURT, WHILE THEIR MAKING A DICISION ABOUT CRUEL AND UNUSUAL PUNISHMENT.

As a Ex-Law Enforcement Officer, I sure hope that this man gets LESS THAN CAPITAL MURDER. Why, Because any sentence less than Capital Murder will put this man in the general population where I GUARANTEE that he will not survive more than three months. If he gets a Capital Murder conviction he will get to spend the next 20 years in solitary confinement while he waits on appeals. He will spend 23 out of 24 hours in solitary confinement. The one hour he gets to go to the exercise yard will be by himself. So no one will be able to touch him. So I hope and pray that he gets put in general population because no matter what the inmates are in for. They will not let him live for what he has done. 90 percent of the inmates have children and no matter what they will TAKE CARE OF HIM!  That I PROMISE!! CH&PP;

Most cities have chainlinked fencing on the highest points of bridges to help prevent things being tossed over especially where boat traffic passes under.  It was the height of the bridge that was obviously a factor in this case because the children could’nt swim and how many bridges did he cross to get there? (prevention).

You have to remember this lawyer was appointed by the court, he did’t choose to be “the monster’s” lawyer and he’s just carrying out the job he was given. I’m sure no one would want the job of having to defend this low life, but the laws of this country mandate that he is entitled to a defense. And we should all want him to have one, we should all want everything done just by the book in this case so that when it’s over and his death sentence is handed down there won’t be any questions as to whether he got a fair trial so maybe his death sentence will stick. Alot of people are saying that the defense would come up with an insanity plea but in the interview his attorney said that “the monster” did not appear to have any kind of mental incapacity so he did not see the need in testing for such. And when his lawyer was asked did he believe “the monster”, when he said the kids were alive, he never said he believed him, he just said that that was a very difficult question to ask now.

“Translator”? Are they serious? There’s nothing else for him to say.

I’m sure the lawyer is just as outraged about this as everyone else, but he has to put his personal feelings aside in order to properly carry out the job that was given to him to ensure that every “i” is dotted and every “t” is crossed. I hope he does a damn fine job defending “the monster” so that when he dies for what he’s done no one will have a doubt in their mind that justice was served. Do I personally believe “the monster” deserves a fair trial, absolutely not,he didn’t worry about what was fair when he did that to his own flesh and blood.I don’t think he deserves his next breath, but we don’t need to sink to his level. We need him to know that unlike him, we abide by the laws of this country. We don’t just do whatever we feel like because we are mad, we don’t commit unjustified acts of murder because we are angry. We need to show him that we are better than him. He needs to know that when he dies we were completely justified to do so.

This would be the perfect sentencing for this heartless coward, put him in a straightjacket and throw his buttt off of the highest point of the D.I.P. bridge. I don’t understand why America lets all of thses foreigners into our country. Look at what’s going on. We don’t need anymore idiots here.

You go girl… you are absolutely right he should have no rights.. no defense attorney should be stupid enough to defend that monster. Nor should he be afforded the right to an interpetuer… he spoke english well enough before i say smack him upside the head and watch him learn english real quick.
