Loren Preciado, of Fort Walton Beach, is charged with False Imprisonment of a Child under the age of 13. Deputies says Preciado picked up the girl yesterday morning near her school bus stop on on Yancey Street. The girl said the man offered her a ride to school and she got into his car, thinking he was a relative. About 30 minutes later, Preciado dropped her off near the Country Corner store on Lewis Turner Boulevard, where another man saw her crying and took her to the store to contact deputies.
According to investigators, the girl also said at one point, Preciado pulled into a gas station, locked the doors, and told her to stay inside. He came back with bottled water and Sprite.
Investigators released surveillance pictures of Preciado at the Fill Ups gas station on Lewis Turner Boulevard hoping someone would recognize him.

When Preciado was arrested late Wednesday night, he told investigators that he was trying to help the girl, but couldn’t find her school so he dropped her off by a gas station where there was a lot of people.
