Late this afternoon, the getaway car used in an armored truck robbery was found in Fort Walton Beach. Deputies are looking for two men who robbed a bank without ever stepping foot inside the building.
The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office says an armored car driver picked up cash around 9:25 this morning from the Vanguard Bank on Mary Esther Boulevard.
Before the driver made it back to his truck, he was robbed by a man with a shotgun.
Deputies are also looking for the getaway driver.
The sheriff's office says the getaway car was a black Toyota Corolla. It was found on Magnolia Avenue. Investigators say it had been stolen from the Uptown Station Shoppoing Center on December 12. The sheriff's office says before the car was stolen, it had large rust-colored primer spots. The car has now been painted with black spraypaint.
If you know anything about this case, call the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office at 850-651-7400 or Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at 850-863-TIPS.
