Legislature to review illegal immigration has recommended tougher
enforcement against violators, more help for businesses to identify
legal workers, and a comprehensive guest worker program.
The Joint Interim Patriotic Immigration Commission held hearings
across the state in recent weeks and then presented its
recommendations to the Legislature on Tuesday.
The recommendations also include getting a reliable system for
Alabama employers to verify that workers are legal, impounding the
vehicles of people without proper licenses or insurance coverage,
and training more police to enforce immigration laws in areas of
the state having the most problems.

New Georgia Immigration Law Could Affect Alabama

Even when they come here legally they cost the taxpayer. They work for $8 an hour, have big families which qualify them for food stamps, free medical and section 8 housing. When my son was born I had to take a job closer to home, My new insurance would not cover him until after he was born, 5 years later we have finally paid it off. We applied for help with several agencies, apparently I made to much money at the time ($12 an hour). The couple in the next room were in this country with a green card having a child, they paid absolutely nothing. I know this because they worked for a friend of mine in landscaping. The goverment will help aliens (legal and illegal) before it helps american citizens. They may be god’s children but hard working americans are paying for them!!
