EVERGREEN, Ala. (AP) - A northwest Florida man caught after morethan a year on the run from child sexual battery charges remains in
the Conecuh County Detention Center awaiting extradition to Santa
Rosa County, Florida.
Sixty-five-year-old Chester Lamar Palmer of Chumuckla fled the
Panhandle in 2006 after courts issued arrest warrants charging him
with several counts of sexual battery and lewd acts on children who
were under the ages of 15 and 12.
A spokesman for the U.S. Marshals Service said Tuesday that
officers from the Santa Rosa Sheriff's Office had tracked Palmer
for months and arrested him on Monday in Evergreen.
