Cameron Adams made a U-turn to get a picture. "Don't Buy Gas From This Ass! That's what it says right there in yellow and blue and red." Once you spot the sign at Interstate 65 and County Road 287, it's hard to look away. Mickey Donaldson says he's never seen anything like it. "We just don't see ASS on the side of the road everywhere we go in America." Right now, you can find it on the side of the road in Bay Minette.
Tommy Rabon says it's just not right! "Little kids come down here then they be saying mama, what is this right here? You know, that just don't make sense." Pam Brooks at the nearby BP gas station believes it's bad for business. "Well if you're going fast, you'd think it meant the next gas station which is BP, not a Citgo!"
Citgo is a subsidiary of Venezuela's state-owned oil company. The picture on the billboard is the country's president, Hugo Chavez.

John McCombs owns the entire billboard and says he had some free space so he put up that message. He believes that if people truly understand world events, they will be a little less opposed to that 3 letter word. "He called my president the devil so I don't like him. He's in with Iran's president and he hates America. That's the main thing."

So, the three letter word will remain a pain for some. McCombs says he has no plans to take the sign down and might even move it around the county!

Workers at the BP station near the sign say they have talked to the city about getting it taken down.

I applaud the man behind this billboard. He is not afraid to speak up and speak out. He is using his freedom/rights that so many of us take for granted. One day it might not be there. Think about the damage that political correctness, hypersensitive special interest groups and insane harrassment/discrimination lawsuits have done and are still doing. We are afraid to speak or even think because it might offend somebody, we might get sued, get fired, labeled a bad person, etc.

I haven’t bought Citgo gas since 9/11/01 because the owner/manager of the local citgo where I was living at the time was celebrating, clapping and hollering after the world trade center was destroyed.

Needless to say he and his entire family were run out of town and that citgo (even with a new manager) was closed down due to the boycott.

I agree! We need to uncover every company that has affiliates itself whth Chavez.  I believe that boycotting is a way the citizens that have no political pull can make a difference.  Let’s uncover them all! Then people can make informed decisions about where they shop and what they purchase.

What other companies have affiliated with Hugo?  I’ll bet Citgo is not the only one.  Let’s unravel the corruption!  Touchee’ for the patriot who put up this wonderful truth!

Do not side with our enemies, you idiots!  Our enemies are many, and they want us all dead…

I’m no fan of Hugo Chavez but I am sick and tired of seeing messages like these on billboards while adds from Planned Parenthood and environmental organizations are routinely denied as being “too political.”

One dictator calls the other dictator devil ... Anyone who calls Bush what he is gets my money.  I ONLY buy Citgo gasoline!

Peachieblue,
You might ask why the Democratic congress continues to block the US oil companies from drilling, refining and transporting oil in the United States and northern Canada. Why do groups like the Sierra Club, and Greenpeace, and Al Gore stand in the way of the rights of American companies to use their own resources?
Before you get preaching Peachie about the founding fathers you might want to read and understand the documents you list, it is liberal judges and democrats who are taking way those rights you are losing, GWB is no fan of mind but he has not past a single law, decided a single court case which has take rights away from a single of American Citizen. He has acted in accordance with the powers authorized him by the Constitution as Commander in Chief. We are at WAR and on 18 September 2001 the US Congress (both houses) gave the authorization to conduct war against those who have attacked the US on 11 September 2001. This authorization gives the CIC (POTUS) great power to protect the citizens of the US from foriegn enemies. He did not use the Supreme Court to get his power.
Read and understand before you show the world your ignorance.

peachieblue,

Joe Kennedy sought out Hugo on that heating oil deal.  What company was going to go bankrupt?  None.  Kennedy never went to any of the American suppliers for a deal.  The deal was nothing but a publicity stunt on both their parts.

As for the The SCOTUS doing Bush’ bidding?  You might want to actually study the subject before you embarass yourself any further.  You obviously need to refresh yourself on the powers bestowed upon a POTUS by the Founding Fathers.  Take the time to study why they granted a POTUS this much power.  Based on the words you wrote, you haven’t a clue as to what the documents say, let alone the legal definition of ....
