VINEMONT, Ala. (AP) - The reward money is growing for
information leading to the person or persons responsible for a
horrific case of animal cruelty.
Three animal groups say more than $35,000 has been raised for
the Justice for Anne fund. The case involves the November 18th
attack on a pet beagle that was skinned alive and later had to be
euthanized.
The incident is believed to have happened in the Providence
community near Vinemont.
The 3-year-old dog named Anne had her coat removed from the nape
of the neck to the base of the tail and down to the nipple line. A
second dog named Buttercup was also attacked. The beagle suffered
lacerations around the neck and shoulder before apparently
escaping.
Owner Janet Rodgers said Buttercup is recovering.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cullman County
sheriff's office at (256) 734-0342 or call the Secret Witness Line
at 734-0210.

Sweetnsour, to answer your questions Ido contribute to rewards human or animal when I can and I even join in on searches and help with flyers.  What ever I can do

Thank you fieldho,

You are so right. This is “practice” and for all we know there may be human victims that have not even been discovered. I will be interested to know if the newest report of mass killings, in Omaha, had an animal cruelty connection as so many of these cases do. I just don’t understand why people do not realize the link between animal cruelty and human cruelty. Every living creature has worth, and really no dollar amount can be placed on any of us(human or animal). Thanks for being one of those who care for the animals!

The type of person that would do this to a little beagle is just practicing.  This person has a greater propensity to begin doing this to humans and, if he did, might succeed several times before being caught.  I think the priority is to remove people like this from our society before they become serial, besides, most of the rewards I’ve seen offered for missing children are greater than 35K.
I don’t believe the amount of the reward defines worth.  Rather, it’s
a demonstration of concern.  The amount varies with the availablity
of cash to those involved with the hunt.  We offer what we can, when we can.
Sweetnsour, when was the last time you contributed to a reward for a missing person?

Sweetnsour,

At least with abused and missing children, there are very stiff jail sentences. Of course, children are a priority. But animal welfare is important too. They have no one to speak out for them, and often animal abusers go on to abuse children/elderly or go on killing sprees as in Columbine, Jeffrey Dahmer-all started out with torturing animals. I am sorry you don’t care about animal-personally I think you are missing out on alot. But that being said, if you don’t care, why keep posting on the forums dedicated to this subject?

I’m sorry I don’t believe in cruelty to animals, but I have seen far less rewards offered for abused and missing children.  We need to prioritize.....

Glad to see a reward has been offered for their arrest.
I hate to think I have to share oxygen with this kind of person.
I have to have faith that God will make whoever did this, to one of his creatures, pay.

The Law is the problem here! they need to make the punishment fit the crime...that being said, being skinned alive should be what this jerk gets.PLEASE find this creep sick individual or individuals.  That poor little beagle, what a shame. I hope buttercup has a full recovery.  If pets could speak, boy what they would say.

I hope they catch those responsible-and NOT let them out of jail! If there were a death penalty or life imprisonment for animal cruelty, I would hope they would get it. No amount of punishment can compensate for what this sicko did.
