McIntosh police arrested two students after they were involved in bringing a gun to school. The incident happened Tuesday morning at McIntosh High School in Washington County. McIntosh police investigators say 18 year old Derrick Ward and another underage student were responsible for bringing a .410 gauge shotgun to the campus. The weapon was inside the trunk of a SUV. Investigators say the two got into an argument with some other students. Ward was charged with carrying a firearm to school. The other student, whose name was not released because of his age, was also charged with the same crime. Ward was placed in the Washington County jail under a $5000 bond. The other student was taken to a juvenile detention facility in Bay Minette. Police also say students on campus were never threatened and the weapon was never taken out of the trunk of the car.
