Thursday morning U.S. Border Patrol Agents stopped a van full of 17 illegal aliens near the Grand Bay Wilmer Road exit. Agents arrested, then transported the two drivers and illegal aliens to the Mobile Border Patrol Station.Border Patrol Agent Ken Fuller says this is a problem the Border Patrol handles on a regular basis. Fuller says they target these shuttle buses also known as Camionetas in spanish. "They're approximately 45 companies operating out of Houston, Texas that conduct these runs across the country to various locations. And for a number of reasons, they appear to be legitimate transportation companies." Said Ken Fuller, U.S. Border Patrol Agent. But Fuller says they are a ploy for smuggling. He says through the use of the Border Patrol's two week operation, Uniforce 3, agents hope to bring the numbers down. "We have extra resources detailed in to assist us in this. We have set up talked with all the state local partners that we have here told them what we're going to be doing. So if they come across something they call us." Said, Fuller.
