Mobile Police arrested 13 people over the weekend during an undercover sting on escort services.Police found the names of the call girls in classified ads and phone books. Undercover officers arranged a meeting at four different hotels on Friday and Saturday night. MPD made 13 arrests, including four males for promoting prostitution.
“We want to drive down the business and I think we accomplished that,” said Police Chief Phillip Garrett. “This should also serve as a deterrent.”
By early Sunday morning, no escort services were willing to send out any of their women.
Below is the names of the 13 people who were arrested in the sting.
• Jacqueline D. Larose, 36; Soliciting Prostitution; Abigail’s Escorts;
• Lawndria A. Kenny, 23; Soliciting Prostitution, Distribution of Obscene Material, Abigail’s Escorts;
• Michael Thomas, 22; No Pistol Permit and three traffic warrants; husband of Landria King, Drove her to the hotel and waited for her return;
• Amanda Bradley, 22; Distribution of Obscene Material; Possession of Marijuana First Degree, Miss Kitty’s Escort Service;
• Africa King, 29; Soliciting Prostitution; Dreamhouse Escorts;
• Michelle Powell, 43; Distribution of Obscene Material; Abbriana’s Escort Service;
• Karen Olt; Distribution of Obscene Material; both Divine Escorts and Integrity Escorts;
• Lashawn Stanton, 21; Possession of a Controlled Substance (Crack Cocaine), No Pistol Permit, Loitering for the Purposes of Drug Activity; Drove Africa King to the hotel and waited for her return;
• Kevin Williams, 18; Possession of a Controlled Substance (Crack Cocaine), No Pistol Permit, Loitering for the Purpose of Drug Activity; Drove Africa King to the hotel and waited for her return;
• Kendal Benjamin, 19; Possession of Marijuana First Degree, Soliciting Prostitution; Drove Amanda Bradley to the hotel and waited for her return;
• Bridgett Luke, 31; Distribution of Obscene Material, Soliciting Prostitution; Integrity Dating Service;
• Tawana Hermecz, 31; Distribution of Obscene Material; Discreet Dating Service;
• Amanda Fitzpatrick, 22; two counts Distribution of a Controlled Substance (Crack Cocaine), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Crack Cocaine), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. (She encountered officers during the undercover operation.)
